ServerSideWiki https://serversidewiki.com A simple, fast, personal micro-site wiki Mon, 10 Sep 2018 08:30:41 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.1.1 https://serversidewiki.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Untitled-150x150.jpg ServerSideWiki https://serversidewiki.com 32 32 Textile Bug Tracker https://serversidewiki.com/textile-bug-tracker/ Thu, 28 Jun 2018 18:49:32 +0000 http://serversidewiki.com/?p=149 Note: this is for my development, not necessarily the released version online.

Notes

Most of the stuff below could be added, but I used the Josh Seeks Godly Wife as a benchmark… if it took longer than 1 second to process, the algoritm is too slow, so that meant that we couldn’t have everything and the kitchen sink.

If you positively have to have one of the below features write me and let me know.

 • double underscores and double *’s have been disabled as I don’t get the purpose and it speeds things up
 • not all glyphs are available (for speed) – for example single quotes are not made pretty like double quotes, 8×8 does not get the cool dimension sign, etc.
 • attributes are not supported on lists… I’ll add this if anyone misses it… It didn’t work per element (LI) as I thought but only on the UL/OLs so I find it less than useful anyways.

Bugs

 • blocks speed
 • add PUNCT
 • remove use of PUNCT? (speed)
 • add table support
 • add url refs support
 • add rip_offtags and smooth_offtags
 • tiddly words in other urls get broken/linked
 • fix wikilink and macro fighting over the same content
 • wikilinks inside the incomingTags macro do not work
 • add macro support
 • add bracketed TiddlyLink support
 • look into use of lambda expressions for speed
 • add TiddlyLink support
 • QTAGS speed
 • retrieve speed
 • proper replacement of &
 • lines don’t break when * on the following line – textile or RedCloth bug – leaving alone

OfflineSyncing https://serversidewiki.com/offlinesyncing/ Wed, 30 May 2018 02:18:08 +0000 http://serversidewiki.com/?p=122 Take your ServerSideWiki with you…

 • one large .HTML file with all your data
 • built-in ability to save changes directly to the .HTML file
 • sync your changes back to ServerSideWiki when you’re online

This is coming.

Test links in tables https://serversidewiki.com/test-links-in-tables/ Mon, 28 May 2018 18:38:10 +0000 http://serversidewiki.com/?p=160 Soon this will be supported with the following syntax (view source to see):

row row
data test

The old syntax with a | will continue to work for backwards compatibility with older versions of Tiddly. I’m going to check with Jeremy (author of TiddlyWiki) to see if he has an alternative suggestion, but I think this works well.

Jeremy finally mentions me https://serversidewiki.com/jeremy-finally-mentions-me/ Fri, 23 Mar 2018 17:44:57 +0000 http://serversidewiki.com/?p=110 Looks like Jeremy mentioned ServerSideWiki in his Aug 27th update. Visits jumped up mid week as expected.

When Jeremy declares the bugs worked out (he mentions some rough edges in his Sept 27th post) I’ll merge the latest TiddlyWiki changes into ServerSideWiki. Should be fun, looks like he’s changed a lot of stuff.

Yes, the launchs is still forthcoming.

P.S. On a side note the now free Opera 8.5 seems to work perfectly for me with the default blue style.

Textile https://serversidewiki.com/textile/ Fri, 23 Feb 2018 11:11:24 +0000 http://serversidewiki.com/?p=156 Ok, don’t expect the moon yet but preliminary textile support is here. Any tiddler tagged with “textile” will be processed by the textile engine. I wanted something automatic but couldn’t find a great way to make the decision which engine to use to render…

Orignally based from the work of Jeff Minard’s SuperTextile most of the code has now replaced with re-written code ported from Ruby’s RedCloth.

You might want to see the TextileBugs tiddler for more details.

What works

 • headers
 • blockquotes
 • footnoting1
 • stong ,emphasisdeleteinsertsubscriptsuperscript
 • class#id attribute syntax
 • {style} attribute syntax
 • lists and multi-level lists

What does not work

 • tiddlylinks and macros are iffy
 • tables
 • alignment attributes

1yes, it works!

Comments could be differentiated from the rest of the text through different formatting.

Also, this would be handled server-side… as in the person leaving comments would not have the ability to edit other parts of your page.

Could multi-backuped pages be displayed as a normal wiki do?

Thoughts

 • Agreed. But it looks like it already does that?? Oh, this is a part of "Public comments…" tigygl
 • I think this works just fine. Nothing stopping me from deleting previous poster’s comments, tho…unless there’s something stopping me that I don’t see…
 • Blogs don’t suffer the same flame wars forums do. Blogs are highly structured, though. I Dare not spend more than a few minutes on any OPEN thing. SOMEONE DELETING (wawawa!) MY COMMENTS IS LIKE TAKING PART OF MY LIFE, the time I spent. Oops, no keyboard shortcut.
 • I would really prefer that folks who comment not be able to erase other comments. I plan to use SSW as a form of career-blog and I’d like to capture comments and hold a structured dialog with commentators.
